With plenty of hype surrounding the debut of the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at the NFL Pro Bowl’s Camping World Stadium, the play on the field certainly did not disappoint as South defeated North, 44-14, on Dec. 8 during a national broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks.
Entering the showdown of players in the Class of 2026, all eyes were on Eastern Michigan commit Jahbarri Frost of the North. Despite the final outcome, he put on an absolute show with two sacks and seven tackles. No questions at all, as Frost was named Defensive MVP.
American Athletic Conference target Sabby Meassick for the South would not be denied, however. Once the coaching staff figured out a way to slow down Frost, it was Meassick’s turn. He was sharp and finished with three touchdown passes en route to being named Offensive MVP.
He had all kinds of chemistry with the likes of Conference USA target Omari Smith, Sun Belt Conference target Ja’Mari Arnold, American Athletic Conference target Jonathan Hall and Ohio Valley Conference target Gage Underwood, among a handful of other contributors.
Sun Belt Conference target Mason Burkhardt on the North went out and strengthened a growing reputation. An extension of the coaching staff, for all intents and purposes, he threw a touchdown pass and rushed for another. His name was in the conversation for Offensive MVP.
His main targets were American Athletic C0nference target Josiah Davis and Conference USA target Jamil Gordon. Their opportunities were created from the play up front by Sun Belt Conference target Pate Pritchett and Ohio Valley Conference target Hutson Copenhaver.
Without question, one of the game’s marquee names was Troy commit Trinton Pritchett for the South. Worth mentioning, given the family connection, his cousin, All-American Bowl alum from the Class of 2016 and North Carolina commit Tyler Pritchett was also in attendance.
One-time Pitt commit and UNC Charlotte pledge Elias Martinez-Beasley on the North also had his fair share of name recognition. Sun Belt Conference target Carter Cichowicz, Benjamin Ravitz and Sami Hage help to anchor the defensive line with Martinez-Beasley at times.
American Athletic Conference target Anthony Casseus and Sun Belt Conference target Jeremiah Gulat benefitted from the South offensive line featuring Conference USA targets Josh Rigdon and Christian Mastandrea, with Ohio Valley Conference target Conner Wellingham.
Sun Belt Conference target JaDarius Burney and American Athletic Conference target Terrence Simmons patrolled the secondary for the South, while Conference USA target Romeo Washington and American Athletic Conference target Kiyh Anderson made plays elsewhere.
American Athletic Conference targets Kemyron Pritchett and Ja’Michael Miller, along with Sun Belt Conference targets Brody Kuszyk and Ridge Taylor were disruptive for the South. And the same thing goes for Conference USA targets Cam Creighton and Devin Garland.
Conference USA targets Marvin Williams and Pip Groves were essentially the glue on for the North, whereas Sun Belt Conference targets Sean Perry and Lynwood Harmon took care of business at the second level. Conference USA target Jace Lee made a name for himself.
