Every year, moreover right around this time, the staff from Blue-Grey Football hits the road on the brand’s nationwide Jersey Presentation Tour with a collection of NFL veterans and administrators.
The goal is to promote the All-American Bowl and a select few of the nation’s top prospects in the Class of 2020 are recognized in front of family and friends. The community in general, to that end.
Four games soon take place, each of them at an NFL venue, specifically Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium and Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The action from the All-American Bowl will be nationally broadcast on ESPN3 or Impact Football Network (check your local listings). Similar to year’s past, the footage will be permanently archived.
Blaine McAllister from Lovett School (GA) was recently honored by NFL veteran coach George Martinez. The 6-foot-3 and 200-pound quarterback will play in the game on Jan. 13 at Mercedes Benz Stadium.
The Princeton commit was rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, an accurate talent indicator as the tool takes into account evaluations of all the major recruiting services.
With nearly 20 scholarships in place, life in the Ivy League was not always set in stone. McAllister, in fact, was pursued by several other schools, with most of them considerably more well-known.
He had offers from North Carolina State and Memphis, among others. Same goes for Bowling Green and Tulane. Cal and UCLA, also Georgia Tech and North Carolina were interested as well.
When push came to shove, his choice was obviously the Tigers, similar to All-American Bowl alum Kevin Davidson. There’s something to be said about knowing where you belong at the next level.
Now, seemingly all that’s left is for McAllister to finish up things on the prep circuit. Beyond that, he’ll line for the last time on one of the biggest stages around in the brand’s All-American Bowl.
