Blue-Grey All-American Combine: Minnesota Regional Scouting Report (2016)

With close to double-digit offers, Luke Chuol was among the many promising prospects at the recent Blue-Grey All-American Combine in St. Paul (MN).

In an effort to discover more of the country’s talent, the Blue-Grey All-American Combine this past weekend made a stop in St. Paul (MN) for the first ever workout of its kind.

Similar to other nationwide visits, there were plenty of high-profile prospects in attendance. Also, and worth noting, multiple under-the-radar type of recruits emerged on the radar.

NFL veteran Mark McMillian and NFL trainer Reggie Young were lead instructors and below is a closer look at a few individuals who left a lasting impression on the one-time professionals.

Devon Moore, QB, Waterloo West (IA): The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound junior and Iowa State commit was on the official roster, but unable to attend. Still, his name is one to remember. You will hear about him again.

Romello Adkins, RB, Champlin (MN): A bigger and durable runner, the 6-1 and 206-pound junior is in the midst of becoming a more complete back. It’s only a matter of time now.

Terrence Nash, RB, Cretin-Durham Hall (MN): The 5-8 and 190-pound sophomore was a favorite of the coaching staff and did whatever was asked of him. He made an impact.

Tyler Knutson, WR, Prior Lake (MN): After seeing the 6-3 and 178-pound junior in action, interest from the schools in the Missouri Valley Football Conference is certainly warranted.

Alex Facon, WR, Centennial (MN): Despite being injured, the 6-4 and 190-pound junior was on hand to help support his peers. Worth noting, he has feelers from the Big 10 Conference.

Deyon Campbell, WR, Hopkins (MN): The 5-8 and 188-pound junior planned to workout. Unfortunately, an unforeseen circumstance prevented his attendance this time around.

James Williams, DB, Cretin-Durham Hall (MN): Regardless of class distinction, the 5-10 and 175-pound sophomore possesses plenty of upside. In couple of years, sky’s the limit.

Charlie Dennis, DB, Cretin-Durham Hall (MN): The 6-foot and 185-pound sophomore was another one of the many underclassmen in action. Yet, his ceiling was higher than most.

James Jackson, LB, Cretin-Durham Hall (MN): Northern Iowa, South Dakota State and Wyoming recently jumped on the bandwagon, and then, offered the 6-3 and 225-pound junior.

Dallas Williams, LB, Washburn (MN): The 5-10 and 176-pound junior wasn’t intimidated by his more well-known counterparts. That said, he held his own. And then some.

Jack Lewaren, OL, Ashwaubenon (WI): First thing that jumped out was his frame. Suppose that explains why the 6-6 and 270-pound junior has been contacted by programs in the MAC.

Carter Hangsleben, OL, Monticello (MN): The 6-2 and 260-pound junior is heading down a similar path as Blue-Grey All-American Bowl alum and Minnesota commit Conner Olson.

Brandon Frankfurth, OL, Anoka (MN): Strong and determined, the 6-2 and 280-pound sophomore did not back down from any challenge. He won many one-on-one battles, too.

Luke Chuol, DL, Centennial (MN): The 6-4 and 240-pound junior upped his scholarship count toward 10 in the last month, or so, and the process shows no signs of slowing down.

Isaiah Nolan, DL, St. Michael (MN): Once word starts to spread on the effort of the 6-1 and 225-pound junior in this environment, multiple teams could be knocking on his door.

Sam Byrd, DL, Centennial (MN): The 6-1 and 265-pound junior has been in talks with Iowa State and Nebraska, among others. Even nearby Minnesota spoke with him recently.

Johnny Wedl, DL, Edina (MN): Seemingly unstoppable, at times, down in the trenches, particularly when coming off the edge, the 6-4 and 225-pound junior is destined for the next level.
