Blue-Grey All-American Combine: North Carolina Regional Scouting Report (2016)
With NFL trainer extraordinaire Rodney Beasley making plenty of moves behind the scenes, similar to year’s past, the recent Blue-Grey All-American Combine (North Carolina Regional) was a success.
The venue for the workout was again at Proehlific Park in Greensboro (NC), the brainchild of NFL veteran and current NFL assistant coach with the hometown Panthers, none other than Ricky Prohel.
With a laundry list of NFL players on his resume, such as Cam Newton for one, Beasley turned his attention toward the prep circuit talent in attendance this time around. Here’s a look some highlights.
Ethan Walker, QB, Southwestern Randolph (NC): The 6-foot-5 and 200-pound junior certainly looked the part. He also played the part, from time to time. The test now will be to sustain the momentum built.
Desmond Trogdon, RB, Asheboro (NC): About as well-rounded as they come, the 5-10 and 185-pound junior left a lasting impression on the powers that be.
Anthony Summers, RB, West Iredell (NC): The 6-foot and 170-pound junior tested well throughout. So did Darius Southerland from Warren County (NC).
Sincere Parker, RB, Jordan (NC): Small by some standards, the 5-7 and 165-pound sophomore got the job done, along with Xzavion Huff from Maiden (NC).
Langdon Givens, WR, Lincoln (NC): The 6-2 and 177-pound junior presented a big target in the red zone, on the sideline, over the middle, everywhere he went.
Jarique Moore, WR, Fairmont (NC): After opening eyes with 40-yard dash and broad jump marks, the 6-foot and 175-pound junior held his own at one-on-ones.
Ford Moser, WR, Northern Guilford (NC): The 5-11 and 165-pound freshman did not shy away from the big stage and then did well in the spotlight several times.
Jarius Cotton, DB, Hibriten (NC): Explosive likely best describes the 5-9 and 175-pound junior. Same thing can be said about Maxwell Mead from South Point (NC).
Marcel Smith, DB, Cardinal Gibbons (NC): The 5-9 and 165-pound sophomore played with the poise of an upperclassman. So did Taymon Cooke from Graham (VA).
Kasee Bates, LB, Dixon (NC): With a frame most college coaches covet, the 6-3 and 188-pound junior has a leg up on his peers and now needs to stay on the right path.
MiQuille Bryant, LB, Monroe (NC): The 5-9 and 185-pound junior is considered undersized by some. Still, there is no denying the fact that he possesses talent.
Quatavis Harrell, OL, North Edgecombe (NC): Big and strong, the 6-5 and 330-pound junior has the tools. Jonathan Ward from Louisburg (NC) is in same category.
Ryan Hiller, OL, Westwood (SC): The 6-3 and 260-pound junior showed somewhat surprising mobility, along with counterpart Austin Brown from West Wilkes (NC)
Jermaine McDaniel, DL, Dillon (SC): With offers and Big 12 Conference interest, the 6-3 and 225-pound junior was the top prospect on the field, regardless of position.
Ryan Daborowski, DL, Laney (NC): The 6-2 and 230-pound junior, with a little added bulk added to his quickness, could develop in to a force down in the trenches.
