Blue-Grey All-American Combine: Northern California Regional Scouting Report (2017)

Pac-12 Conference target Delano Ware was among the many prospects who particularly did well at the Blue-Grey All-American Combine outside of San Francisco (CA).

Seemingly without fail, an individual, or two, typically makes a name for himself at the Blue-Grey All-American Combine (Northern California Regional).

This year was no different from any others in recent past, for the record, as multiple prospects did well at the workout just outside of San Francisco (CA).

NFL veteran Mark McMillian came away impressed, in fact. Many recruits left a lasting impression on the one-time professional and his staff of peers.

Naturally, given the facts recently stated, we figured it was best to share insight from the afternoon. Accordingly, here are a few of the many highlights.

Kevin Decker, QB, Burbank (CA): The 6-foot and 160-pound junior was about as athletic as they come. Bottom line, he needs the ball in hands. Sacramento State and UNLV are interested.

Micah Barnes, QB, Kennedy (CA): Capable of playing multiple positions, the 6-foot and 160-pound junior could line up at wide receiver or defensive back. Simply put, he’s that skilled.

Keyshawn Ashford, RB, Woodside Priory (CA): The 5-10 and 165-pound junior hit his growth spurt not long ago. No surprise, Weber State was one of first to jump on the bandwagon.

Dauson Booker, RB, Central Catholic (CA): With numbers seemingly off the charts during skills testing, the 6-foot and 190-pound junior was the focus of not only opponents, also peers.

Juwan Tanner, WR, Vanden (CA): Fresno State and Portland State have reached out to the 6-foot and 170-pound junior. Schools from the Pac-12 Conference might be in the mix.

Davion Cox, WR, Aragon (CA): The 6-2 and 180-pound junior nearly stole the show. BYU and Nevada are apparent fans. That first scholarship could be in place sooner rather than later.

Kenneth Woods, WR, Laguna Creek (CA): Sacramento State, San Diego State and UNLV have expressed varied levels of interest in the 6-1 and 180-pound junior. Remember his name.

Vincent Mossotti, WR, Campolinda (CA): The 6-foot and 180-pound junior has the attention of programs in the Ivy League. Furthermore, he’s firmly on the on radar of Columbia.

Korey Russell, WR, Amador Valley (CA): Eager to prove himself on one of the bigger stages around, the 5-10 and 165-pound sophomore did well in the spotlight and earned some respect.

Delano Ware, DB, El Cerrito (CA): Northern Arizona was the first to step up for the 6-foot and 185-pound junior. Washington and Washington State have since joined in on the fun.

Cam’Ron Chatman, LB, La Mirada (CA): The 6-1 and 228-pound junior was on the roster, but unable to attend the workout. Schools in the Pac-12 Conference have kept tabs on him.

Editor’s Note: Those who did well at this workout, in time, could be invited to one of the brand’s All-American Bowls held at NFL stadium and nationally broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks.

The games take place at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field or San Francisco 49ers’ Levi’s Stadium.

Moving forward, the Blue-Grey Football Selection Committee will consider a number of different factors before making an all-important decision on invites to the All-American Bowl. Stay tuned.
