Blue-Grey Jersey Presentation Tour: Charles Strong
Every year, moreover right around this time, the staff from Blue-Grey Football, with a collection of NFL veterans and administrators, hits the road on the brand’s nationwide Jersey Presentation Tour.
The goal is to promote the All-American Bowl and a select few of the nation’s top prospects in the Class of 2018 are recognized in front of family and friends. The community in general, to that end.
Four games soon take place, each of them at an NFL venue, those being Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium and Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field.
The action from the All-American Bowl will be nationally broadcast on either ESPN3 or Impact Football Network (please check your local listings). Also, similar to year’s past, the footage will be permanently archived.
For the third time in as many years, several of the country’s premier prospects were in attendance at EverBank Field for a recent gathering, where NFL veteran Quinn Gray was among the hosts.
Many of the individuals were acknowledged in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, an accurate indicator of talent considering the tool takes into account evaluations of the major recruiting services.
A one-time Florida State commit, Charles Strong from Union County (FL) was the marquee name, with the 6-foot-1 and 225-pound running back rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.
A one-time Virginia commit, Wyatt Rector from Leesburg (FL) was another well-known commodity, with the 6-4 and 228-pound quarterback rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports.
A Central Florida commit, Eriq Gilyard from Trinity Christian Academy (FL) was there, with the 6-foot and 225-pound linebacker rated as the nation’s No. 31 player at his position by 247Sports.
A Washington State commit, Nick Lewis from Bolles School (FL) was on hand, with the 6-9 and 340-pound offensive lineman rated as the nation’s No. 53 player at his position by 247Sports.
A Wake Forest commit, Orlando Heggs from Bolles School (FL) was present, with the 6-4 and 305-pound offensive lineman rated as the nation’s No. 87 player at his position by 247Sports.
An ACC target, Willie McKnight from Gainesville (FL) was at the facility and all signs point to the 5-8 and 185-pound running back being on the verge of being rated by 247Sports. Stay tuned.
Expected to be in attendance, but unfortunately not, ACC target Riley Smith from Bartrum Trail (FL) and Wake Forest commit Ryan Smenda from Fleming Island (FL) planned to be in the mix.
There you have it, a who’s who list of those that were front and center. The next order of business for many will be to play in their respective prep circuit finales during the All-American Bowl.
