Blue-Grey All-American Combine: Tennessee Regional Scouting Report (2016)

ACC target Kayne Roberts (right) nearly stole the show despite the presence of many talented prospects at the recent Blue-Grey All-American Combine in Nashville (TN).
In an effort to gain a better understanding of the country’s overall talent, the Blue-Grey All-American Combine recently made another visit to the South. Safe to say, no one was disappointed with the collection of prospects in attendance at the D1 Sports facility in Nashville (TN).
NFL veteran Mark McMillian was lead instructor during the workout and had some considerable help, specifically speaking from one-time Alabama teammate Brian Burgdorf. What follows, naturally, is a much closer look at several recruits who turned the heads of the powers that be.
Wyatt Hayes, QB, Gallatin (TN): With plenty of competition on hand, the 6-foot and 185-pound junior put his best foot forward in the environment and appeared to earn the respect of his many peers.
KeiAnthony Conner, QB, Lavergne (TN): The 6-1 and 180-pound sophomore did well, along with fellow underclassmen Carson Shacklett of Brentwood (TN) and Austin Gunter of White House Heritage (TN).
Keun Webb, RB, Tyner (TN): Often underestimated, the 5-9 and 155-pound sophomore was determined to deliver results. And he did just that. Same thing can be said about Tanner Word of Lebanon (TN).
Everett Dews, WR, Anderson County (TN): The 5-10 and 170-pound junior opened up plenty of eyes. So did counterparts Bradley Miller of Dekalb County (TN) and Calem Rich of South Gibson County (TN).
Andrew Merritt, TE, Hardin Valley Academy (TN): With a big frame, particularly down around the red zone, the 6-3 and 223-pound junior quickly developed in to favorite target of multiple signal-callers.
Kayne Roberts, DB, Greenback (TN): The 6-3 and 200-pound junior was the premier prospect and not many around argued that fact. Not surprisingly, interest continues from programs in the ACC and SEC.
Mike Mincey, DB, Boyd Buchanan (TN): With his share of upside, more than most, the 5-10 and 175-pound sophomore has a bright future. Once his senior season rolls around, watch out, sky’s the limit.
Jaden White, LB, Mt. Juliet (TN): The 6-2 and 200-pound junior was a force to be reckon with at the second level. He gave opponents, mostly the running backs and tight ends, fits from start to finish.
Preston Parks, LB, Lebanon (TN): Eager to prove that he belonged, the 5-11 and 180-pound junior did not take one play off. By day’s end, no one questioned his work ethic. Everything was left on the field.
Russell Wagner, OL, Columbia Central (TN): The 6-6 and 300-pound sophomore, on paper, was tabbed as one to watch despite being largely inexperienced. Still, he played with the poise of a varsity veteran.
Chris Nelson, DL, Powell (TN): With no problems in the height department, yet somewhat in need of added mass, the 6-6 and 205-pound junior is heading down the right path. The journey is promsing.
