Blue-Grey All-American Bowl: East 35, West 27
In a game featuring some of the nation’s the top prospects in the Class of 2022, this one lived up to the hype, as East defeated West, 35-27, at the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl held at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium on Dec. 20.
Big Sky Conference target Seth Cromwell on the West was largely, though not solely, responsible for the outcome and finished with 127 rushing yards, also three touchdowns. No surprise, he was named Offensive MVP for his efforts.
Up front and down in the trenches for the West, Boise State commit Roger Carreon, South Dakota State commit Quinten Christensen and Mountain West Conference target Zenin Rudnick paved the way for Cromwell & Co.
Similarly, on the other side of the ball for the East, the offensive line might have been one of the better units in recent memory of the game, anchored by three Conference USA targets William Diggins, Hayden Todd and Wil Saxton.
Mid-American Conference target (MAC) Kameron Wright, Sun Belt Conference target Greg Knox, Southland Conference target Tederian Blair and Ohio Valley Conference target Grant Vaught also did rather well for the East.
Big Sky Conference target Isaiah Griffin and MAC target Rahzik Crutcher were important pieces of the puzzle on the East, same with Southland Conference target P.J. Rivera and Patriot League target Alec Treadway.
MAC target Noah Spencer had plenty of options to choose from on the East. Colonial Athletic Association target Jordin Lennon was among them. Army commit Dillon Stowers was likely the most reliable, truth be told.
Cornell commit Rick Coleman from the East earned respect and his name was in the conversation for post-game honors. However, in the end, South Dakota State commit Jace Sifore of the West was named Defensive MVP.
Mountain West Conference target Anthony Harris on the West opened up some eyes. Big Sky Conference target Savignon Yokely and Conference USA target Kamron Bibby fell in the same type of category, worth noting.
Sun Belt Conference Tahj Martin from the West left a lasting impression on coaches in attendance, along with counterparts such as Big Sky Conference targets Trace Williams-Mitchel, Broox McGiven and Connor Petersen
Colorado State commit Brannan Mannix, New Mexico State commit Hunter Haemker, Mountain West Conference target Jeremiah Johnson and Southern Conference target Xavian Andrews starred on defense for the West.
Sun Belt Conference target Gabriel Marable, Conference USA target Andon Carpenter, with MAC targets Travis Barnes and Dontez Howard were just a few of the players who turned heads for the East, in retrospect.
