Blue-Grey All-American Combine: Mid-Atlantic Super Scouting Report (2023)
With NFL veteran Ken Stills running the show as the lead instructor, and a staff that included Keon Thorpe, the Blue-Grey All-American Combine (Mid-Atlantic Super) was a well-run workout and several individuals delivered more a handful of memorable efforts.
Although there were many scholarship-worthy prospects in attendance, numerous others fit in that category. Below is a recap of some of the top performers and each is now considered as an All-American Bowl candidate for one of the upcoming games later on this year.
Jason Wright, QB, 2025, Huguenot (VA): The 6’2 and 185-pounder seems to have a bright future. North Carolina State and Virginia Tech are interested.
Jordan Dennis, QB, 2024, South County (VA): It certainly appears as if, for one, Central Florida has seen something it likes in the 5’10 and 170-pounder.
Malachi Coleman, RB, 2025, Fleming (VA): The 5’11 and 175-pounder might land with the likes of Marshall or Old Dominion. Remember his name.
Christian Metzger, WR, 2024, Handley (VA): Brown and Cornell have been in contact with the 5’11 and 170-pounder in the not so distant past.
Roman Soriano, OL, 2024, Nansemond River (VA): The 6’2 and 295-pounder could find a home with a school such as Norfolk State
Cooper Daniel, OL, 2025, Smithfield (VA): It’s only a matter of time before the 6’3 and 300-pounder emerges on the radar of teams.
Ben Myers, DB, 2024, Massaponax (VA): Tough, a competitor through and through, the 5’10 and 165-pounder did not back down.
Dagan Wayland, LB, 2024, Warren County (VA): Bit and strong, with good feet, hips and hands, the 6’3 and 210-pounder opened eyes.
Elijah Armstead, LB, 2025, Reed (VA): Not long ago, the 6’0 and 205-pounder was on campus at Maryland and West Virginia.
Brady Echols, DL, 2024, West Springfield (VA): Temple and Wake Forest might emerge as potential suitors for the 6’3 and 265-pounder.
Jackson Briley, DL, 2024, Wake Forest (NC): The 6’4 and 220-pounder has kept the lines of communication open with UConn.
Gavin Goetsch, DL, 2024, Loudon County (VA): Difficult to deal with in the trenches, the 6’3 and 230-pounder turned heads.
Donovan Cooper, DL, 2024, Hopewell (VA): The 6’4 and 210-pounder earned the respect of his peers and left a lasting impression.

Additionally, likely late in the summer, invitations will be extended to one of the brand’s upcoming All-American Bowls held at NFL stadium and nationally broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks.
Games take place at Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, Falcons’ Mercedes Benz Stadium, Texans’ NRG Stadium or Jaguars’ EverBank Field, among other venues.
Moving forward, the Blue-Grey Football Selection Committee will consider a number of different factors before making any decision on potential invites to the All-American Bowl. Stay tuned.
