Blue-Grey Jersey Presentation Tour: Velton Gardner
Every year, moreover right around this time, the staff from Blue-Grey Football, with a collection of NFL veterans and administrators, hits the road on the brand’s nationwide Jersey Presentation Tour.
The goal is to promote the All-American Bowl and a select few of the nation’s top prospects in the Class of 2019 are recognized in front of family and friends. The community in general, to that end.
Four games soon take place, each of them at an NFL venue, specifically Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium and Houston Texans’ NRG Stadium.
The action from the All-American Bowl will be nationally broadcast on ESPN3 or Impact Football Network (check your local listings). Similar to year’s past, the footage will be permanently archived.
The focus this time around is on Velton Gardner from Dallas Skyline (TX) and the 5-foot-9 and 170-pound running back will be uniform for the East vs. West vs. East on Jan. 29 at AT&T Stadium.
Gardner was rated as a three-star prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, an accurate talent indicator as the tool takes into account evaluations of all the major recruiting services.
A one-time Texas Tech commit, Gardner appears to be keeping his options open at this stage of the game. Make no mistake either, he has plenty of choices when it comes to the next level.
With close to 20 scholarships in place, it’s safe to say that Gardner is hot commodity as programs from the ACC, Big-12 Conference and Pac-12 Conference are among the many potential suitors.
Still, it seems as if Kansas could be the frontrunner for a potential pledge. Only time will tell. This much is fairly certain, before college ball, he’ll line up in the brand’s All-American Bowl.
Editor’s note: With four games planned this year and more than 400 prospects participating, each individual will receive an official Jersey Presentation during All-American Bowl Weekend with the brand’s NFL veteran coaching staff in attendance. In addition, plenty of national and local media will be on hand for the event.
