Blue-Grey Super Combine: Nor. Cal. Scouting Report (2015)

With interest from colleges all over the country, Kevin Davidson was among the high-profile prospects at this past weekend’s Blue-Grey Super Combine.

Each and every time, seemingly without fail, our stop in Northern California for the Blue-Grey Super Combine does not disappoint. This weekend’s workout over at College of San Mateo, naturally, was no different from those in recent years.

NFL veterans Mark McMillian, Byron Evans and Ken Stills passed along their knowledge of the game to the prospects in attendance, as did one-time NFL coaches George Martinez and Artie Gigantino, also NFL trainer Pepe Villasenor.

Safe to say, the recruits were the biggest beneficiaries of the coaching staff’s collective experience. So, it’s time to take a closer look at the individuals who left a lasting impression on the powers that be. A best-of-the-best list follows.

Kevin Davidson, QB, McClymonds (CA): The 6-foot-4 and 215-pound senior-to-be dominated and essentially locked up a roster spot for the upcoming Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

Keaton Torre, QB, Bingham (UT): A one-time Louisville commit, the 6-3 and 195-pound senior-to-be was not in action due one of those unforeseen circumstance. Still, he remains on the radar.

Morian Walker, RB, Valley Christian (CA): The 6-1 and 205-pound senior-to-be increased his stock in the eyes of our coaching staff and scouts. Next stop could be the big stage in the Lone Star State.

Mike Green, RB, Grant (CA): A relentless worker, Pitt, Utah, Wyoming and Washington are several of the teams who have reached out to the 6-1 and 205-pound senior-to-be in the not so distant past.

Tiger Geeslin, RB, Legacy (NV): The 5-10 and 205-pound senior-to-be has received plenty of interest from schools in the Mountain West Conference, most notably being Boise State and Fresno State.

Isaiah Hall, RB, Chaparral (CA): A capable ball-carrier, the 5-11 and 197-pound senior-to-be did well from start to finish in this setting. Same thing can be said about Grant Kingston from Anderson (CA).

Marqel McCoy, WR, Concord (CA): A big target, it’s not surprising that the 6-3 and 188-pound senior-to-be has been on contact with the likes of Cal, Oregon State and San Jose State, among others.

Thomas Reid, WR, Radford (HI): The 6-2 and 195-pound senior-to-be appears has a particularly bright future ahead of him considering scholarships offers are in place from Hawaii and Nevada.

Andreaz Spencer, WR, Paul. W. Bryant (AL): The 5-10 and 156-pound senior-to-be opened up eyes. So did Ricky Nichols from Blue Springs South (MO) and Matt Cherry from Hinsdale Central (IL).

Brandon Duckett, WR, Encinal (CA): Regardless of class distinction, the 5-8 and 165-pound junior-to-be was in the conversation that took place for the top player at his position. Sky’s the limit with him.

Daenard Branch, WR, Kington (NC): The 6-foot and 175-pound junior-to-be did not perform as if he was one of the more inexperienced recruits. That applies to Ndem Okoro from Livermore (CA) as well.

Kendahl Blakely, TE, Basic (NV): The 6-foot and 250-pound senior-to-be lined everywhere, all over the field, including at fullback and on the defensive line. He’s a jack-of-all-trades type, that’s to be sure.

Damon Wiley, LB, De La Salle (CA): It’s only a matter of time before the 6-foot and 230-pound senior-to-be adds programs to his list of offers. His ability to play a bit on the defensive line helps, in fact.

Alex Hunter, LB, Liberty (AZ): The 6-1 and 230-pound senior-to-be has emerged as a legitimate target of more than few teams on the West Coast. Recruiting has shown no signs of slowing down either.

Corey Selenski, LB, JSerra (CA): In possession of plenty of upside, the 6-2 and 220-pound senior-to-be could soon develop into a hot commodity. That is, once the word starts to spreads about his effort.

David Turner, LB, Valley Christian (CA): The 5-11 and 205-pound senior-to-be made a major impact the entire time, as did Malik Holmes from South St. Paul (MN) and K.J. Latu from Paraclete (CA).

Trey Udoffia, DB, Del Oro (CA): Expected to be a marquee name on the defensive side of the ball, the 6-1 and 175-pound senior-to-be did not disappoint those in attendance, scouts and fans alike.

Elijah Orr, DB, Grant (CA): The 6-foot and 180-pound senior-to-be didn’t back down from challenges. Desmond Young from Chaparral (CA) and Evan Michalet from Rocklin (CA) are others to remember.

Sterling Strother, OL, Campolindo (CA): A Yale commit, the 6-4 and 271-pound senior-to-be was a man among boys, most times. As a direct result, he strengthened his growing national reputation.

Glennwood Williams, DL, Frederick Douglas (MD): The 5-10 and 265-pound senior-to-be held his own, along with Brandon Hocter from Liberty (CA) and Dominic DeMarco from Frontier (CA).
