Blue-Grey All-American Combine: Northeast Super Scouting Report (2016)

Illinois State commit Trenton Hatfield was one of the more well-known names at the recent Blue-Grey All-American Combine in Canton (OH).

When it comes to gridiron settings, not many are better than the Pro Football Hall of Fame, the site of this past weekend’s Blue-Grey All-American Combine (Northeast Super).

Many of the region’s premier prospects, and several of the nation’s rising recruits, were in attendance for the workout located in Canton (OH). And the conditions were ideal.

Once on the field, the individuals were instructed by the brand’s seasoned coaching staff, including NFL veteran Larry Ryans, also NFL trainers Rodney Beasley and Reggie Young.

That said, with the facts out of the way, it’s time to take a closer look at the players who were able to leave a lasting impression at the one of the country’s finest venues around.

Trenton Hatfield, QB, Muncie Central (IN): An Illinois State commit, the 6-foot-2 and 190-pound senior established himself as one of the workout’s best and earned Offensive MVP.

Harlan Mitchell, QB, Dunlap (IL): The 6-1 and 200-pound senior has received recruiting interested from multiple programs, particularly in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

Reed Aichholz, QB, Indian Hills (OH): Teams from the Mid-American Conference are on the bandwagon of the 6-5 and 235-pound senior and Eastern Michigan has already offered.

Kyle Pressley, RB, Cary-Grove (IL): Often underestimated, fairly or not, the 5-10 and 180-pound senior has, more often than not, figured out a way to prove the naysayers wrong.

Anfernee Lipscomb, RB, Gamble Montessori (OH): The 5-9 and 170-pound senior possesses upside and safe to say that Trevor Kennard from Mt. Carmel (IL) is in the same boat.

Garth Medors, WR, Watkins Memorial (OH): The 5-11 and 182-pound senior is a target of schools in the MAC and nearby Ohio could be the first to pull the trigger with a scholarship.

Joe Arnold, WR, St. Francis DeSales (OH): Still a bit underrated, the perception about the 5-11 and 165-pound senior might change once word spreads about his effort in this setting.

Ja’von Hicks, WR, Colerain (OH): The 6-1 and 180-pound junior was one of the top prospects on hand. Same thing can be said about his brother Giante Hicks from Dixie Heights (KY).

Jacob Miller, WR, Ayersville (OH): Eager to prove himself, the 6-foot and 170-pound senior did well. So did Dawson Aichholz from Indian Hills (OH) and Jaelyn Gaither from Red Land (PA).

Anthony Rodgers, DB, Princeton (OH): The 5-10 and 170-pound senior did not ever back down from any of the secondary challenges and took home the hardware for Defensive MVP.

Michael Mincey, DB, Boyd Buchanan (TN): Young, but with an undeniable high ceiling, the 5-11 and 173-pound junior played with the poise of varsity veteran. Sky’s the limit for him.

Alex Ray, DB, Cabell Midland (WV): The 6-foot 175-pound senior might not have been the most highly-touted recruit on paper. Still, he held his own against his peers. And then some.

TiAriq Dailey, LB, Elder (OH): About as athletic as anyone, the 5-9 and 210-pound senior made a number of different plays at the second level, one’s his counterparts simply could not.

Christopher Edwards, LB, Farmville Central (NC): The 5-11 and 220-pound senior looked the part. At times, in fact he played the part. Moving forward, it’s all about consistency.

Jack Lewaren, OL, Ashwaubenon (WI): Massive and deceptively mobile, the 6-6 and 280-pound senior put on a show down in the trenches, which comes as no real surprise.

Nicholas Omitt, OL, Desert Ridge (AZ): The 6-4 and 275-pound senior recently talked with the coaches at Boise State and the relationship between the two figures to improve.

Jose Sanchez, OL, Proviso West (IL): Bowling Green and Western Michigan have been in contact with the 6-4 and 280-pound senior and others schools could soon follow suit.

Wyatt Wielms, OL, Warrenton (MO): The 6-4 and 295-pound senior might be considered somewhat of a relative unknown on the recruiting trail. That status won’t last long though.

Carter Hangsleben, OL, Monticello (MN): Schools in the Pioneer Football League reached out to the 6-2 and 235-pound senior and more well-known conferences could come calling.

Peyton Stallard, DL, Burton (VA): The 6-3 and 285-pound senior has enjoyed conversations with schools in the Colonial Athletic Association and the dialogue continues to take place.

Caleb Jones, DL, Huntley (IL): Difficult to deal with, specifically speaking when lined up on the edge, the 6-2 and 210-pound senior made his mark during the one-on-one session.

Mohammed Ali, DL, Northeast (PA): The 6-2 and 225-pound senior had a likeable disposition off of the field. On the gridiron with intensity, however, it was no Mr. Nice Guy.

Trent Harrell, DL, Chippewa (OH): With a motor that did not stop, the 6-3 and 230-pound senior was not out-worked. Equipped with one speed, his foot was on the gas throughout.
