For the second time in as many years, LaGrange (GA) played host to the nationwide Blue-Grey All-American Combine. Similar to the first around, there was no shortage of talent on the annual stop for the Southern Regional.
No strangers to that region of the country, NFL veterans Larry Ryans and Dialleo Burks were instructors for the pair of workouts. What follows are observations from the one-time pros and our staff of scouts. Stay tuned for more.
Joseph Cambridge, QB, Riverdale (GA): The 6-foot-3 and 185-pound junior was tabbed as one of the top prospects in attendance beforehand. With interest from the Sun Belt Conference and recently ACC, he certainly didn’t disappoint.
Richie Kenney, QB, Lambert (GA): Expected to give Cambridge a run for his money, the 6-2 and 188-pound junior was not at full strength. Nevertheless, schools in Conference USA are interested and Old Dominion offered him.
Casen Conway, QB, Centennial (GA): The 6-1 and 185-pound junior certainly passed the eye test, already equipped with above average size. His growth spurt is not over just yet, either. Focused on college, the future appears bright.
Isaac Lipscomb, WR, Homestead (GA): Cincinnati, Syracuse and West Virginia lead the way in terms of the scholarships in place for the 6-3 and 170-pound sophomore. The recruiting process shows little or no signs of slowing down.
Roques Dowdy, WR, Oconee County (GA): The 5-11 and 170-pound junior opened up plenty of eyes at the start of the workout. By day’s end, he was accordingly considered as one of the more consistent individuals on hand.
Savon Cooper, LB, Creekside (GA): Somewhat undersized, at least by some accounts, the 5-8 and 207-pound junior did not let a perceived lack of stature stop him from making an impact. Safe to say, he left a lasting impression.
Cole Schneider, OL, Riverdale (FL): The 6-3 and 290-pound junior turned in an effort that won’t soon be forgotten. Suppose that best explains why programs from Conference USA have reached out and his offer from Florida Atlantic.
Finley Felix, OL, Riverdale (FL): More than just a big body, the 6-6 and 297-pound junior displayed some somewhat surprising glimpses of athleticism. With a frame like that and a bit more polishing in the near future, sky’s the limit.
